NDIS support
Daily Living
Personal care, household help and the daily routines that keep things running.
What this category covers
Daily Living supports cover the everyday tasks that allow a participant to live independently. Personal care like showering and dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, laundry, and shopping all sit under this category.
These supports are usually delivered in the participant's home, often by a support worker on a recurring roster. The mix of tasks is set in the service agreement with the provider, not by OpenWay.
Plan management
Daily Living can be funded under Core Supports - Assistance with Daily Life. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can engage registered or unregistered providers; NDIA-managed participants need an NDIS-registered provider.
Typical services
- Help showering, dressing and personal hygiene
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Light housework, laundry, grocery shopping
- Medication prompting (not administration unless qualified)
- Overnight active or sleepover support

Frequently asked
▸Do Daily Living providers need to be NDIS Registered?
Only if you are NDIA-managed. Plan-managed and self-managed participants can choose registered or unregistered Daily Living providers.
▸Is medication management included?
Support workers can prompt you to take your medication, but administration of medication is a clinical task requiring an appropriate qualification. Talk to the provider about exactly what their workers are trained for.
